Working While Studying

Once you’ve been attending full time classes for at least 6 months out of the last 12, you’re qualified to apply for an Off-Campus Temporary Work Permit (you can apply on-line from Canada). This temporary work permit allows you to work 20 hours per week.

Another possibility is the opportunity to apply for a 3-year work permit after you graduate (with at least a 2-year Diploma), allowing you to work outside your field of study. This initiative enables you to acquire Canadian work experience and to help broaden your knowledge and appreciation about our country.

Each February, we give a workshop for students at the College on how to apply for work permits. If you’d like to apply before that (or to find out if you’re eligible) you can always make an appointment with the International Coordinator.
