International Partnerships
The College of Craft & Design currently has students from several countries enrolled in our programs, and as our international reputation grows, we anticipate welcoming many more.
The College was one of eight Canadian colleges selected to help improve the lives of disadvantaged women in Brazil as part of the “Mulheres Mil” (One Thousand Women) international project, sponsored by the Brazilian and Canadian governments. Starting in 2008, faculty and staff have been visiting Brazil’s northern states of Pará, Piauí, Sergipé, Rondônia and Tocantins, working with college partners there, developing programs to teach women fashion and crafts skills, presenting workshops on access policies for non-traditional students, and advising on entrepreneurial initiatives. Mulheres Mil is designed to graduate one thousand women over the three years of the project. The program will teach them new skills to help improve their lives and provide new career options.
In China, the College has signed several Memos of Understanding with arts colleges in Wuhan and Nanchang, and faculty exchanges have begun to consolidate strong partnerships between our institutions. Our one-year Graduate Certificate and our joint Bachelor of Applied Arts degree with the University of New Brunswick are particularly appealing to Chinese students.
Now is an exciting time to be a student at the College of Craft & Design. Come and join us as we build on a 70-year heritage of excellence, developing new programs and forging new international partnerships to provide you with the very best educational experience – anywhere!
