Welcome to the New Brunswick College of Craft & Design, established by the provincial government back in 1938. We’ve come a long way since then.
Today, the College is a designated Centre of Excellence in the visual arts, in recognition of the integrity of our curriculum, the distinction and professionalism of our faculty and the success of our students and alumni. We offer comprehensive and contemporary programming in foundation visual arts, graphic design, integrated media, interior decorating, fashion design, photography, Aboriginal visual arts and fine crafts (ceramics, jewelry and fibre arts).
The College offers a one-year Certificate, two and three-year Diplomas, a four-year Bachelor of Applied Arts degree delivered in partnership with the University of New Brunswick, and one-year Graduate Certificates.
Small class sizes enhance the learning experience here. Instructors are highly trained professional artists and designers. Campus resources include professional studios and labs, a library, learning commons, student lounge and art supply store.
International partnerships and a range of Continuing Education programs have positioned the College as a key resource within New Brunswick’s vibrant culture sector, with an increasingly national and international profile.
More and more international students are choosing NBCCD. We accept applications throughout the year for the September through April academic year. Because we like to keep classes small to maintain a good student-instructor ratio, applications and supporting documents should be submitted as early as possible for the following September. This is necessary to give ample time to obtain student permits, or in some cases, a student visa.
We want to make your time with us very special. You can request to be met at Fredericton’s international airport. Each student is assigned an Academic Advisor to help with course selection and orientation, and our International Coordinator is available to help you adjust to living and studying in a new country.
The College campus is located in the Historic Garrison District in downtown Fredericton, the capital city of New Brunswick. It’s close to parks, restaurants and cafés, art galleries, bookstores and boutiques.
Graduates are working throughout Canada and around the world, winning awards for their work and contributing to the cultural, social and economic development of their communities.
