Graduate Studies is a 1-year Certificate Program with the New Brunswick College of Craft & Design (NBCCD) designed to foster advanced research into professional theory and practice, provide framework for fine craft, design and entrepreneurial skill development, and in the process lead to a professional body of work to help launch successful careers in art, craft, design or new media.
Instructors with extensive professional experience, fully-equipped studios and labs, and a year-end public presentation of work has made the program popular with students looking for an intensive year of graduate study within a specifc visual arts discipline.
The Graduate Studies Certificate will refine a student's studio and entrepreneurial skills, as well as help students build a professional portfolio. Students work with faculty mentors and seek out professional experiences such as exhibits or design projects for external clients.
The College campus is located downtown Fredericton, a designated Cultural Capital of Canada. A campus library and store, and nearby bookstores, boutiques, cafes and art galleries help create an inspiring and supportive learning environment.
This Program is open to applicants who graduate from the College with a Diploma; to University graduates; or to those with experience in a related visual art and applied design discipline. In addition to the aforementioned applicants are required to write a letter of intent and show a portfolio of recent work for admissions.
