The New Brunswick College of Craft & Design (NBCCD) welcomes students of all ages and backgrounds into our Visual Arts learning-centered cultural community.

NBCCD provides an excellence foundation for professional practice and personal development, fostering creative enterprise and applied learning in craft and design.  Students from all age groups and backgrounds are embraced at NBCCD.  The College fosters a personal voice and vision, within an atmosphere of collegiality and mutual respect.

Students are encouraged to study at the College in order to build a career or enhance a life skill, or both.  Achieving either can be achieved through the College's Visual Arts Programs:

  • 1-year Foundation Visual Arts Certificate
  • 2-year Diplomas
  • 1-year Graduate Studies
  • Bachelor of Applied Arts degree features 2-years of study at the College plus 2-years at the University of New Brunswick. This articulated program allows College students to earn credit towards the BAA degree offered by UNB.
  • Certificate of Achievement, a non-academic credential offered to students taking studio courses.

Most of our courses have entry requirements; all of them require an open mind and a willingness to work at what is one of the most challenging but most fulfilling pursuits aspiring artists, designers and media practitioners can have.

Students can study full-time, part-time, in the evening, in the summer and even abroad.

What is craft and design? - Teal

“I loved my time at the College of Craft & Design! It was such a positive experience being surrounded by faculty and fellow students with the same passion for fine art and craft. Compared to my time at other universities, the College was by far the best learning experience. Now I'm working at the New Brunswick Crafts Council as a project coordinator and I hope to have my own home pottery studio running within the year."
