Bachelor of Applied Arts (BAA)

This unique four-year UNB degree program combines New Brunswick College of Craft & Design visual arts courses with traditional liberal arts courses at the University of New Brunswick (UNB). You can start your studies at either institution, or attend the College and UNB in alternate years. The choice is yours.

If you’re coming directly from high school, you’ll apply directly to UNB – their application deadline is March 31. If you’ve completed two years at the College of Craft & Design, you can transfer your 60 credits directly towards the BAA program.

Once you’ve completed the additional 60 credits and want to go beyond your Bachelor of Applied Arts degree, you can complete a Bachelor of Education degree in Adult Education at UNB with an additional 60 credits.

All BAA students must choose a studio major as an area of concentration at the College of Craft & Design. These include: Aboriginal Visual Arts, Ceramics, Fashion Design, Fibre Arts, Jewellery and Metal Arts, Photography, Graphic Design, Integrated Media or Textiles.

For more information about the program, including application and transfer procedures, please contact Peter Gross, Coordinating Instructor and the BAA College contact, at (506) 453-3767 or gnb.ca; or UNB's BAA Coordinator, Deborah Johnston, at (506) 453-4655 or refer to UNB's BAA website:
