  • Graduate Studies (Jewellery / Metal Arts) student Kristin Bishop has been announced the winner of the 2012 Nel Oudemans scholarship, valued at $1000.

  • 24 of our students exhibited work in the “Nature of Art / Art of Nature” exhibition Dec 7th at the New Brunswick Museum. Over 350 people were in attendance. Winners included: Maria Guevara ($500), Kristen Bishop ($1000), and Alexandra Keely MacLean ($2000). The exhibit opens again at the UNB Art Centre in April 2013.

  • On May 28th, 30 students from Leo Hayes High School took part in workshops in Fashion Illustration, Photography, and Mixed Media.
  • On May 21st, the College displayed student work at the Marco Polo Cruise Terminal in Saint John, NB in honour of the Royal Visit of Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.  View the photos on our facebook page

April

  • This year's 14th Annual Fashion Show, titled Designed to the Nines, was held on Saturday, April 21st at the Fredericton Convention Centre.

  • The Charlotte Street Art Centre is currently hosting a group show for the graduating students of the Photography Program titled Not From Concentrate. The opening was held on Friday, March 16th and will run until April 30th.

    March

    • The College hosted its annual Spring Open House this past Saturday, March 24th and ran from 9am-4pm.
    • The Gallery presents The Melting Point, an exhibit showcasing new work by the students of the Jewellery and Metal Arts Studio. The opening was held on Wednesday, March 21st and the show will run until April 13th. 
    • Alumni Brody Leblanc & Monica Lacey are currently showcasing their latest work in an exhibit titled Werkstatt. The opening was held at the UNB Art Centre on Friday, March 16.

    • Instructor Craig Schneider's Tile Mural, Wolastokuk, was unveiled on March 9th at the Fredericton Convention Centre.
    • Jewellery/Metal Arts student, Ruth Jarvis Coleman, received the Heather Stone Emerging Artist Award at the Atlantic Craft Show in Halifax last month. Read the article about her award here.


    February

    • Congratulations to the twelve students from The College who have received an NBCC Foundation scholarship or bursary! Read an article about the awards here.
    • On Thursday, February 16th, the College Gallery held an opening for ceramic students titled It All Begins With Clay. The exhibit will run until March 8th.
    • Congratulations to First Year Surface Design student, Allison Green, who has won the Jeremiah's Lighting Design competition!
    • Congratulations to Jewellery/Metal Arts student, Ruth Coleman, on receiving the Emerging Artist Award at the Atlantic Craft Trade Show!

    • Gallery 78 held a special three-day event from February 3rd-5th titled Heart's Desire. It featured the work of Brigitte Clavette, Kristyn Cooper, and Kristianne LeBreton.
    • Alumni Greg Klassen currently has a gallery exhibit, titled Distractions, located at the UNB Art Centre in Memorial Hall. The show will run until February 24th.
