Melanie Mitchell graduated from the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design with Diplomas in Surface Design and Fashion. She is now an instructor in Foundation of Visual Arts, Surface Design and Fashion Design and teaches two non-credit evening classes. For the past three years she has shared her obsession with texture and color by instructing several workshops in the Fredericton EdVentures program. She has had the honor of taking part in the Heart Truth Campaign, designing and creating beautiful red dresses for some amazing women, to help raise awareness for the New Brunswick Heart & Stroke Foundation. Currently, Melanie is in the process of developing her teaching skills through the Instructor Development Program at the University of New Brunswick. She spends her “spare time” making commissioned, one-of-a-kind party dresses, formal gowns and corsets.
