Harriet holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from NSCAD University, a Masters Degree in Education from the University of New Brunswick, as well as an undergraduate degree in Business from UNB and a Diploma in Fine Craft (Surface Design) from the New Brunswick College of Craft & Design. She is an accomplished surface design and fibre artist, formerly a resident of Harbourfront Studio in Toronto, and has exhibited internationally at shows such as Surtex and the Fashion Fabric Exhibition in New York City. She has given numerous lectures and workshops in Canada, the USA and the Caribbean and writes regularly on art and design topics for the Salon section of the Telegraph-Journal. Her work is in the permanent collection of the Saint John Museum. Harriet taught at the College for 20 years prior to becoming Department Head in 2009.
